Photos of radios

I need some photos of standard model radios fitted to 996's. The ones I need are:

CR11 or CR31 (radio-cassette)
CDR22 (radio CD)
CDR23 (radio CD)

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. They need to be a reasonable quality and size, and I'm looking for close-up shots.

My email is richard996 (at) gmail d0t com

Thanks

I can't believe porsches originally had a casette player. If i'd have bought a brand new car in '99 i would have wanted cd at least [:D].

Come on then what cheap skate is still rolling with a CR31 ?

how do you get your Mp3's on to them and do you want us to chip in and buy you a CDR22 on ebay?.

Mine looks exactly like the first one, but its a CR-21 rather than CR-11 or CR-31. Let me know if its of any use to you.

No problem. I'll get you something tomorrow (although the volume button is a bit worn, so no offence taken if you don't use the photo!).

Just sent two pics to you Richard, so let me know if you don't get them (they were nearly 8Mb combined so hopefully your email address can take that much).

The CR23 uses the most fibre-optic loop if it is amplified. It does have speaker connections, but no line outputs for a conventional amp. It would need to be decoded to remove the security code (which interacts with the DME), and I doubt it would give any difference in performance to a CDR22.

If you want to upgrade, best bet is to get an aftermarket unit....

No aftermarket stereo's for me thanks, can't stand them - like to keep in with the original style of cars and not have lots of flashing lights :)

Just wondered if it was a worth while upgrade was all or if it was much the same. Sounds like there is no point though.

Cheers,

You don't have to have flashing lights. A nice second-hand Becker Cascade, TrafficPro, Granx Prix, etc would look perfect. Some were factory options. Becker don't supply them any more, unfortunately.

I bought a nice new Blaupunkt unit for my 3.2 which looks very much at home. Originality is fine, if that's your thing, but you soon get tired of a 1980's radio cassette!
