Pics of my car after bodywork

RC18B 911 turbo

New member
Thought you might like to have a look at some pics of my car now it has been back with more for more than a week. It's just had:

Full respray
Carbon fibre front splitter
968 door handles and mirrors
rear rubbing stip removed (possibly not such a good idea)
clear front indicators (still waiting for sides)

Soon going to have some new wheels and the carbon fibre 968 turbo S rear wing fitted.

Only problem is that less than a week after getting the car back someone has driven into the rear of it on the only day I drove it to work and now I have a crack and a small dent in the rear bumper really frustrating.

Wow ! Looking very nice [8D]

Where did you get it done and how long did they take start to finish?

Commiserations on the dent and crack so soon [:(]

You got a full respray and it's still red?

Seriously, looks good. I quite like the removed rubbing strip as I've always felt it looks out of place with the Turbo/S2 front end not having one. Bummer about the bumper getting hit, but at least with fresh paint it would be easy to get a match so you can get it repaired effectively.

What wheels are you going for? It would look good with clear rear indicator lenses as well as the rest.

A Guards Red 944 thats actually red ! [;)]. Very smart indeed. [8D]

Oi, leave it you two!!![8|]

Nothing wrong with a hint of dusky pink.....[:D]

Anyway, red ones are definitely faster......[;)]

Agreed [:D][:D][:D]

I second that

I also thought the rear rubbing strip looked out of place on the car (might of been usefull in the car park when I was at work though why can't people just leave some details or something)
I've seen the clear rear indicators on your car Fen and thought they looked great but where did you get them from I can't find any anywhere also how difficult was it to get that spoiler fitted as I have a similar one to the one on your turbo?

It's taken 2 and a bit months but a fair bit of that was waiting for various parts to arrive but it's been well worth the wait I reckon though.

It's also had the KW V3 coilovers fitted too and that has made a fair dramatic difference compared to the knackered shocks I had before (unsurprisingly)

My spoiler fitment was different to yours as I started with a bridge spoiler. Basically though you need some form of bodyshop adhesive mastic and bond the parts on, with the addition of whatever screws you can use through existing holes in your glass (which will be different to mine).

Talk to Richard (wolfie308) about clear rears, or go to www.protocast.co.uk which is his company.

I'd love to fit a splitter like yours but I just know that it'd only be a matter of days before I caught it on a kerb/speed hump/small child/dog (delete as inapplicable)..[8|]

Car really does look good, but I must admit I like the black rubbing strip at the back as there is a red/black contrast theme running through the whole car.

You must have been raging when you discovered that someone had hit it and the lovely note they had left must have blown away in the breeze....[8|]

The splitter is surprisingly robust and doesn't ground all that much, even on my extensively lowered car; assuming it's the same as mine then it has a flat bottom so you actually gain ground clearance compared to the standard batwing which is about 2" deep. You do need to be careful parking nose-in if there is a kerb in front though.

I believe the splitter is the same as yours indeed and have noticed that it is flatter I haven't grounded out on anything yet although my car is only 20mm lower due to there being a real nasty speed bump in our street irritatingly enough.

Thanks for the info Fen I will get around to it soonish (esspecially clear rear indicators think they look good)

I think it will look a lot better once the badges and rear Porsche script are fitted as it will make the rear end look a little more interesting.

Nice car. All you need is some schmick wheels to set it off just so.
Just wondering on the clear-rears. As there seems to be some sort of silicone between the lenses, how are these installed?

Me and Oli will take on all red cars in our Baltic Blues [:D]
Ah, but mine is a baltic blue S2, which is clearly superior!

Just as a thought, which is better? A baltic blue turbo or a red S2? Difficult one ...

(Jon - your car looks fantastic. And where did you get that sunny day on which to take photos?)

Oli.

Thinking of some cup 2 split rims which look quite nice I reckon.

That singular sunny day was bank holiday Monday I took the photos in a car park before I went for a drive accross Dartmoor was going to take some pics on the Moors but I just couldn't stop driving.

I've been thinking of supercharging to but that'll wait a few years until my insurers will insure me for such a thing.
