That's another one with buttons and not a multifunction wheel. Are they emptying the parts bin on the demonstrators?[;)] I'd go with parking sensor too. And someone needs to clean all those bits off the centre console..............[:D]

Thinking about it, more likely to be radar cruise control sensors.
Pretty certain that's not an option Alex. Can't find reference to radar cruise control anywhere in the literature.

Looks good in red, btw (doesn't it Peter!)[:)]

Alex, that whets my appetite!! Only a few weeks to go now - 11 to be precise.

You can't order adaptive cruise on the 991 as per the Cayenne/Panamera - yet.

Beautiful.
Drove it all day Sat & Sun and put it up against my 996 Turbo, Ive been in deep depression since.

Donald.

I have a test drive booked on the 21st, so I will let you know how it holds up against my 997 Turbo.

I am not expecting much though as I know a local with a 997 Turbo (plus a 997.2 GT3RS 4.0, plus quite a few other Porsches) with just a ECU remap, said the 991 wasnt anywhere near as good as his 997.1 Turbo or his 4.0. The only thing I am hearing is that there is MUCH more front end grip than before. I fixed that one a long time ago on my car by adjusting a 997's rake to move more weight forwards.

It's nowhere near a gen2 997 Turbo, I had one two weeks ago for a test and they really are awesome. However up against my standard 996 Turbo on initial acceleration it was close. Does sit fairly planted but through the bends didn't loose the 996 and did have the stability management working now and again where the 996 was fine.
The 991 I drove had sports plus and was impressed by it. PDK as well and compared to my manual is a breeze.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed overall it's a great car although my sights are now on a gen2 997 Turbo.
Please let me know how you get on?

I have just been informed that a very reputable uk suspension tuner took a 991 out for a test run the other day - and the handling when pushed actually scared him. He's unsure if the demo car in question just had a bad alignment or whether the new 991 is just very frisky/unpredictable at the rear (I am paraphrasing). He suggested an aligned 997 was more compliant at high speeds on the same route.

The OPC he borrowed it from has subsequently asked for a written report from him, so they are obviously concerned.

Hi Alex,
feel a bit stupid now (probably because I am). Wasn't happy with the performance of my 996 Turbo against the 991 Carrera S so took it to my Indy this morning who told me one of my Turbo's is goosed, the rod had seized. So only one Turbo has been working.
Good news is my car still has a Porsche warranty so booked in for Thurs for repair and getting a short shift at the same time. Hopefully this will bring me back up to par with the 991?
Donald.

Just from hearsay, I have heard that a 996 Turbo is as quick as a 997.1 Carrera S, and a 991 Carrera S is as quick as a 997.2 GT3. So I still think there would be a jump from a 996 Turbo to a 991 C2S.

Turbos are all about torque though - if, like me, you love that rush of power then a 997 Turbo may be a better match than a 991 C2S.

Hi Alex "" that Porsche have been gradually making it less practical to tune vehicles, e.g. engine but also suspension "" did your suspension expert give any insight as to whether there is any difference in adjustment options on the 991 "" whilst I don't doubt there is always a way it's always far more practical if the design facilitates.

On a related note it would be interesting to know if the factory has done anything to improve the suspension tolerances when they are delivered to the customer "" as I understand it you have a limited chance of taking delivery of a 997 that has actually had its suspension aligned on the vehicle versus one which has simply had the suspension dropped in, jobs a bad "˜un "" my car could fish-tail as one rear wheel was pointing in the wrong direction!
