Hi. Does anyone know what the piece of rubber that hangs down under the car in front of the front mud gard is called please - I need a new one. It is in the shape of an 'L' as you look from underneath and presumably is there to prevent excess dirt getting up into the radiator area???. The offside piece of rubber has come away partially, as one of the tongues has ripped, it is still hanging on by the others. It is about 9 - 10" long by about 5" wide and i am not quite sure of its role; it is connected to the car by several tongues. I have a gen I 997 turbo. be grateful for any ideas please.. many thanks

Duncan,

I think the rubber strip you refer to is a component of the front wheel arch liner Part No. 997 504 124 01, but I don't think it's available separately.

The front liner is held in with T25 and T30 screws in the wheel arch and underneath. It is quite easy to remove to repair the rubber strip, either by using glue or a screw. Alternatively, you may be able to do so in situ by jacking up the car to get better access.

BTW there's a mine of information available in the technical section of the Members Only section of 997 Register forum including a link to the parts catalogue, but here it is anyway to save you having to look it up:- [:)]
