Pink coolant

Hi All

I have a couple of coolant issues so will be putting two posts up here, however the first and simplest is which colour coolant should my car have? iIt is a 91 S2 and came back from RPM Technik with pink coolant in it about three or four years ago, I just went to top this up and the bottle says that it is recommended for Porsche from 95 onwards.

Should I have the blue stuff instead?

Not the OAT stuff as far as I'm aware. Use anything that's suitable for aluminium engines like Prestone or even the blue coolant from ECP.

Contact Opie Oils, very good with what should go in for all liquids ( inc Oils) on all models, I was told ( rightly or wrongly) don't mix colours a bit a kin to doing your clothes washing as with anti freeze because it may sluge up, the problem is in my 944S when checked it I couldn't work out if it was green or blue as it was a colour between the two!
May be worth like me flushing it out and replacing it with one recommended by Opie, in my case Fuch ESK, water capacity is 8.5 ltrs so a 5 ltr purchase will give you a top up spare putting in a 50:50 mix ...ie approx just over 4ltrs of anti freeze.

If it has been in 5 years I would recommend replacing anyway. Blue stuff is fine as long as it good for aluminium block engines. Your motor factor or ECP or GSF or whomever you choose to use will be able to advise you. 50:50 antifreeze to water should be good.

If you cant do a complete flush stick with the colour you have, if you mix colours it goes like jelly.....

I use Comma G48
