Hi Folks
Just recently ive noticed that my car 944S2 has started to , what sounds like pinking .. This happens between 2000, + 2400 rpm under load / acceleration...+ NO other time....

The car has a Promax chip , Cat replace pipe , Janspeed rear section, "cone" filter in the badge panel, Iridium plugs + runs on a strict diet of Optimax at all times...95000miles, 91my.

Anbody got any sugestions as to what might be causing this....???????????

The obvious is fuel and/or ignition. How about putting the stock chip back in to see if it stops. If it does it's mapping, if not it's going to be something mechanical - AFM maybe?

The chip has been in for about 6 months .. BUT the pinking has started about 10 days ago...[&:][&:]

Dave, are you sure it's not your brakes still cooling down from Saturday !![:D]
Thanks for the trip round Oulton in your car, hope the problem is nothing serious. If you need to drop your car of at Hartech and need a lift back, give me a call.

Mine does the same if I dont use Slick 50 or Injection cleaner in the petrol twice a year. Dont ask me why but rightly or wrongly it works.

Tony,,
Ta for the offer.. I hope to get it sorted without going to them..

Its gotter be something or nothing,, me hopes...[;)]

Glad you enjoyed your "flying" laps of Oulton. It certainly was fun...+ the brakes have finally cooled down now....[;)][;)][:D][:D].
