PIRELLI PZERO ROSSO N3 TYRES

Hi - I am trying to get 2 replacement rear tyres for my 993 but it seems no one has any. There seems to be a shortage from Pirelli!
Has anyone had similar problems or any ideas where to get some?
Offside tyre is getting a little bald.
Thanks
Seb

I get this occaisionally with Contisports; they make them in batches and it seems to be that they don't run a new batch until they've sold the last one from the previous batch. The result is if you're unlucky and need them before they run a new batch you have two choices:
1/ Switch makes and have mis-matched tyres until the fronts need replacing
2/ Shop around until you find somewhere with them in stock

I suppose a third option is to put the tyres on back order and leave your car in the garage until they come in but that's not a viable option as far as I'm concerned. If Pirelli are anything like Continetal they wont tell you when the new run will be produced. I don't like mis-matched tyres even just front to back, so option one isn't really really something I would go for. I've always been lucky with the Continentals and managed to find a couple.

All I can really suggest is phoning or e-mailing around all the suppliers and fitters you can think of because there will be some around. One of the big internet suppliers, I think it's Black Circles, ge supplies in from Europe, so they might be worth a go.

Thanks Guys. Well I have sourced a couple but where I paid £140 per tyre all inclusive through Elite last year, they are now coming out at £195 per tyre through another supplier. Seems to be the cheapest but also seems a big hike. Is this just down to a shortage in the market?!

Hi Seb, I have had a similar problem and found P zero Rossos are hard to get hold of.
I dealt with STS Tyre Pros, the manager was extremely helpful and managed to locate 2 Rears and 2 fronts from 2 different sources in their group.

Dragging up an old one - but I need a pair of Pirelli P0 Rossos for the rear and I'm having trouble finding any. Anybody have a source they're willing to share?!

Cheers/John

Had this problem when I wanted to replace my PZero rears - could not get any N4s anywhere... even the OPC could only source ONE[:-]. Have replaced with Contis at rear and will put Contis on front soon to match, as they seem very good (quieter too) and generally available[8|]!!

My usual tyre supplier couldn't get my preferred choice of winter tyres a couple of months ago so I did an internet search and came across a couple of suppliers on the continent that ship to the UK. One was in Poland and the other France. I can't remember the Polish one but I did use Pneus (http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/) who were very competitive on price with no delivery charge. The tyres were delivered within three or four days. They even indicate on their site when the tyres were manufactured, so you can tell if you're getting old stock.

I also used Tyremen (a Yorkshire firm) for winter tyres for my wife's car around the same time and again an excellent service and keen price.

I wouldn't hesitate to use either of these companies again

I gave up trying to get some and moved to Contis as well. They seem good although I replaced a flat just before Christmas. They are certainly cheaper too.

Seb,

I replaced the Contis with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS 2. I had Contis on before and wasn't that impressed with feel. I also drove a new Porsche Boxster with Contis recently and had the same lack of feel. Honestly the Michelins are much better than the Contis - bear in mind they are more expensive. The shop I got them from Micheldever tyres in Andover quoted about 610 for contis, 720 for the Michelins. I had new suspension (Bilstein PSS10) and wheel alignment fitted before going to the tyre shop so the price mentioned does not include wheel alignment.

Thanks for the tip.

I've had both Michelin PS2s and Conti Sport Contact N2s - of the 2, Contis much better in the wet, far more planted, and that's a big selling point for me.
(Or maybe you're still gunning for Pirellis?[;)])
As well as which, I've found Michelin don't last as well, and of course cost more. Got my latest set of Contis for £700 the lot, which compared direct ly with PS2s at £150 more.
The above excluding 4 wheel alignment.

I tried to get some zero rosso's last week - no joy and they tried everysupplier in the North of England.

Pirelli are bringing out some new Zero tyres in the summer, will the zero rosso's will be discontinued in N spec I wonder like the old zero nero?
