Pirelli Tyres 996

Need a pair of new rear tyres for my 996 as a nail in one. As normal, shame as stil loads of tread left! Just been imformed by local Pirelli performance center that Pirelli "no longer do a Porsche fitting" for my 98 996. Not that keen on Pirellii myself, but as club offer of £50 back after, I thought I would give it a go. Is this correct?

What are you running (if not Pirelli) at the moment?

Also,
1. Any chance of a repair - if the nail isclean in the actual tread (not at the edge in the wall) a repair will cost you around a tenner and is should be perfectly adequate even on a performance tyre.
2. Lost me on the rest of the post - P-Zero is the only Porsche approved tyre for the 996 as far as I know, and are usually the only one's reasonably easy to get hold of. Bridgestones, Conti's and Michelin offer alternatives, but its hard to get a full set.

I'd give black circle's a try as well - their tyres mostly come in from the continent often with wider availability than UK stocks as a consequence.

Running Continental all round at the moment. Personaly not happy on repairs but will give some thought. Have long Germany Autobahn trip soon!

What I was trying to say is the Pirelli performance centre is saying that they can't supply me Pirelli tyres as they no longer supply Pirelli Porsche fit for my car. I find that hard to belive.

Hi grant
As Julius what size's are you running?
According to their website 18" are available in 265/35ZR18 or 285/30ZR18 & 17" with 255/40ZR17.

Personally, I'd stick with Conti's. My Boxster is like a different car (in a good way!) since I swapped my P-Zero's for them.
