Dear all[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]The demonstrations of 944 servicing and repair work are happenig only on the Sunday, not on both Sunday and Monday as I previously reported.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I am looking for a volunteer to provide a car - I can do the "chat" that accompanies it[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]You would need to get your car there for about 9:30am on the Sunday, with the actual demonstration taking place from 11:10am for an hour or so. After the demo you're free to move your vehicle as required, as I understand it.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]IMPORTANT: Please contact me at nfearn(at)saratoga.co.uk if you would like to provide a car for the demo.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Details again are:[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]
****************[FONT=verdana, geneva"]We have three pit garages for the Technical Arena, in one Parr Motorsport will be showcasing Boxster , GT3, 996 and 997 road and track cars (the modern era), in another pit Chips Away will have a continuous demonstration of repairs to paint dings, wheels and the like and in the third pit garage the club in partnership with a Southern based Independent Porsche Specialist 'Carrera Performance' will put on a demonstration of maintenance and discussions about options and modifications for Classic Porsche including 356, 944, 928 , 911 and 964.
There is as you can see from the attached itinerary an hours slot devoted to the 944, rather than just take over the whole thing I want to include the specific car register members in the activity related to their car. What I am looking for is a little bit of back up on the days and also some one such as yourself who would be willing to commentate on a mike to the spectators about the demonstration in progress, this would obviously require some technical knowledge and mostly enthusiasm. I think this will be a great opportunity to have some fun working on our cars that we love so much any help especially on the commentating front and the supply of a car for an hour would be a great help. You can design your own program based on the list below or add to it, There would have to a little chat with Jez Parsons Of Carrera Performance (mechanic on the day) before the event just to tidy things up.

Would volunteer but I don't recognise half of the things on Beaky and I have endeavoured to remove most of the annoying bits from under the bonnet - what is that big hot noisy metal thing? Do I need it?

I'd volunteer our S2 but it doesn't really need any of those things doing.

Now if you had a machine to rebore 2.5 litre Turbo engines I'd be there like a shot [:D]

Have you got a car now?
They could demonstrate front wheel bearing swapping on mine and also that some cowboy has filed the brake pads instead of refurbing the calipers - I will sort them properly soon, though it seems to work well as a temporary measure.
