Plastic 10mm nuts used underside

Hi all,

The rear-most section of undertray broke on my car the other day. It looks like something might have struck it in the past so I guess it has done its job well. Anyway, I've got a new one from Porsche which wasn't too expensive and I asked for some new fasteners too. It is fastened with T25 torx screws and the 10mm plastic nuts.

I can't get the plastic nuts to catch on the threads at all. Any ideas/tips?

Try using a socket, so that you can push the nut onto the stud evenly while you are turning the nut. If they aren't shoulder nuts (hence held at the tip of the socket), put a couple of nuts in the socket first to pack it out. Hope this helps.

As ever Richard, thanks for the quick response. I've tried that and used a little electric driver I have too. I've now sprayed the threads of the lugs with some WD40 as they are understandably rusty. I think I need to wire brush them but I haven't got one! Off to the shops then......
