I noticed the other day that the plastic undertray under the engine is missing (must of fallen off). Does it need to be replaced immediately or can it wait a few months as the service is due in feb 2008 on my boxster 2.5 so I thought I would get it replaced then. Can any damage be done without the undertray being there?

PLASTIC UNDERTRAY MISSING!

Well, difficult to say.
I would imagine that it protects from the water/salt spray from the roads, the electrics are better protected, and there are a couple of scoops within it that are obviously ther to cool specific points (but how much water/salt do they pick up? [
])
Why wait? It's the same cost now as it will be in Feb.
Might be worth seeing if one of the specialist breakers has one in stock if it's expensive (I've no idea if it is).
