Play in steering

I've noticed some play in the steering of.my 2016 Cayenne Diesel S. You can 'waggle' the steering wheel a bit with no response from the car. The dealer said this is normal and even sent me some videos of other same generation Cayennes he has doing the same thing. Anyone any thoughts on this?
