Pleasant suprise! RMS

Took my wifes six year old Targa for an annual service and an MOT to local OPC. Collecting car told of items requiring maintenance including RMS. Last year they noticed it weeping and both times I said we will wait until either the clutch needs replacement or the weeping turns to a leak.

Suprised to be rung today to say they will do the work gratis with Porsche picking up 60% and the OPC 40%. I realise that as far as the OPC are concerned they are just giving a discount on their labour rates.

There generosity was explained as a reward for PCGB membership and long standing loyalty to the brand and OPC. Is Porsche changing as the economic tide turns?

Suprised of Brighton.

What odds do you think a bookmaker will offer against the following?: During RMS replacement you get a phone call advising that the clutch needs replacement![;)]

It really did turn out to be FOC and no they didn't find any other faults whilst they replaced it.[:D]

So I really should have gone down to the bookie.[&o]

That is a pleasant surprise and helps restore some faith back to the marque's poor customer service record. Is this indeed a change of attitude now that sales are starting to slow down. Well done to Porsche on this occasion.
(Yes, I do give praise where it's deserved)[:)]

Is this Mid -Sussex Francis?

I have been rewarded with good customer care there recently. Nothing as grand as a FOC RMS I have to say but neverthelees good service.

Yes, it is Mid Sussex OPC.

We have been customers of theirs for ten years so I'm sure they are not out off pocket.

However still suprised.

RMS repairs are being honoured by PCGB provided they have full Porsche service history - this is nothing new, been reported numerous times in last 4-5 months. Pity its taken 10 years of internet forum talk for them to finally concede there may be an issue that owners aren't happy with !
