Please help! What should I do next?

I ordered my first porsche, cayenne, in July this year. The car have been ready for collection a month ago, however when I prepared to pick it up I heard the news regarding vw v6 diesel engine also having co2 emmission issue. Porsche suggest to hold fire for bit as Porsche gb is doing the investigation, and to see what result would come out. Now it has been a month, I have yet received anything from porsche dealer.

What should I do now? Continue to wait or switch my order to v8 s diesel? I'm worrying the resale value if I collect the v6 diesel now, for v8 I was told next slot of production will be April next year, in that case I have to wait another 5 months, is it worth to wait?

Please give me some advice, many many.........thanks in advance.

This is an expensive vehicle. Have you actually sat down and calculated the full cost of ownership over, say, 3 years of a diesel versus petrol model taking into account purchase (financing?), depreciation, maintenance and fuel costs? Unless you're covering a high annual mileage I'd be surprised if the difference in fuel costs will be that significant.

Given the choice, I'd always have the petrol model. With DFI technology, modern petrol engines are very clean and efficient with none of the Nox and particulate problems associated with diesels, so no particulate filters or AdBlue to worry about. Plus, it's nice to have an engine that revs beyond a lowly 4,000rpm.

Thanks you all for the valuable advice. how many miles can the petrol engine get with full tank of fuel?
Btw is there any suggestions on diesel models.

I believe you can specify a 100 ltr tank, so even with a heavy right boot you will get a range of well over 500 miles

I have just traded in my 2004 Petrol Cayenne 4500cc S after owning it for 8 years and replaced it with a 2013 Diesel Cayenne 3000cc V6. My fuel costs have gone down by over a third and the diesel engine is superb. I was afraid I would loose smothness and quietness but the diesel has surprised me, it's so relaxed. I've also got a 911 so get my need for revs looked after by that. I'd don't think the emissions scandal will have much effect on costs of ownership.
