I am desperately trying to find a part for a nice shiny new (to me!) 1981 924 turbo. The car has been diagnosed with a dead crank angle sensor/pulse sensor whatever it is called. I cannot get one from any of the breakers I have tried, but even if I could how long would that last? Does anyone know of a new part that is the same or could be modified to do the job. I have had the car for 2 weeks now and haven't driven it yet. Its doing my head in! Someone please save me!

Nick, I have got one coming to me, don't you read the replies to your posts? Email me. I need your name and address, and I will send you mine so you send me a cheque for £25 inc p&p.

In reply to the second part of the question, 924 turbo crank sensors do fail, nothing like as often as they do on the '44, and this second hand one should get you mobile, while I cajole my electricians at work into devising a resolution to this protential problem for all 924 turbo owners. I have contacted siemens too, this time on their siemens vdo automotive site and am waiting for details from them.

Welcome to the forum Nick

You have got a bit of reading up to do, thanks to John (924nutter) [:)]

Sorry I have not got back sooner. Really appreciate this. Where do I send you a cheque?! Please give me a call on 07773651861.
