Evening all...I have just spent the weekend replacing my bumper driving lights on my s2 with air scoops for brake cooling... but want to still have side lights and if possible front fogs, i have read on here and have been told that if i buy clear indicator lenses i could double them up as front lights as well, this would be ideal but i cant get the lights to work now i have removed the bulbs from the light clusters, is this is due to them not being earthed as when i removed the bulbs i had to unplug a couple of spade clips which i guess were earths, if this is the case what would be the best way to earth them...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Thanks in advance.... Thanks for the link, just the idea i have seen, still left with the same question though... how to get the lights working..

This is where I think that having your pop up lights on switch position 1 (side lights) is useful. This means you can have a small light unit that takes up half the width of the hole, your side lights will come from the main pop-up headlights and have a dedicated fog light from the samll bumper mounted unit. You can then have some nice brake duct made to make the other half look purposeful. This arrangement wouldn't bother me - I never use sidelights anyway.

The space where the light was has been completely filled now with air scoops, i have just ordered some clear indicator lenses and my plan is to use half for the side and fog lamp and the other half for the indicator... i have got the light wires to the correct point but not sure how to earth them if that's what they need ?[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Ah, I see. How were the previous units earthed? Aren't you just substituting one light unit for another? I suppose you could just take a wire from the nearest radiator mount if you want to earth to the body.

Not a part of the car I've had in pieces I'm afraid but can't you just 'earth' it to whatever it was (electrically) connected to before? Presumably you still have some of the fog/driving light loom tucked away in there. If it really is just an earth anywhere on the nearby bodywork should do, maybe the indicator bulb has a similar arrangement that you could share.

The original set up was as follows, when you remove the long lamp from the bumper it consists of one main lamp bulb for the fog lamp, one main bulb fo the main beam and one small bulb for the side light, as well as this there are around three small spade clips which connect to metal rings around the holes where the main bulbs fix in to the rear of the lamp ... im not sure if these are earths or if they are making up some type of circuit, all i know is when you disconnect them the lights wont work...!
