Hi Everyone [:(][:(]

Just got out of my works van after 2hr Friday journey which took 4hr to get home but as soon as I turned the corner into my road I could see my Boxster waiting and the journey was nothing. Until I walked past it and noticed a small pool/patch of oil (oh no) one week today I collected it My heart is now pounding , Have I bought a lemon? So I tried to get under to see what/where it was coming from could not get far enough under to have a good look. Decided to go to my local tyre fitter I know the owner so he put it on the ramps after his investigation he 99% sure its the CRANK CASE OIL SEAL (I nodded as if I knew what it was and returned home). I understand the workings of an engine and enough knowledge to get me by. But don't tell me, is the start of a nightmare?[:(][:(] I hope not it has a 3month warranty but its a 200 mile round trip to the specialist dealer I bought it from will it get there ok?? Is it going to be alright?? My week end is about to be ruined and if Hartlepool United get beat tomorrow that will be it .[:(][:(]. oh by the way full porsche history 31,000 miles, 1 previous owner Black, Black leather, Chrome Pack 18" alloys, it looks £45000 Got it for £26,000 please advise STILL LIVING THE DREAM JUST.[;)]

Look in the FAQ and do a search on RMS.

If it is this, then it sounds like yours might be strangely bad, so if your warranty covers oil leaks get it done there - if not then 6 hours labour at an Independant Specialist (not the corner garage - but a real Porsche specialist) plus £15 for the seal will sort it - Say £350.

Sorry this is off-topic, and maybe it is just me, but when I do a search for "RMS" nothing comes up. In fact, I find the search facility generally pretty useless. Is there some trick I am missing?

Ah... You may be right - I searched today for a couple of things ("Gaydon" for instance) and NOTHING came up.
I then forgot all about it (busy at work)[&:]

I think that the Search facility may be broken...[:'(]

How about if you put a time period on the search?

I did this today and it worked fine
