Hi all ,

I have a 986 2000 Boxster and the plip key has given up. The battery is fine and changed recently. The key has been a bit eratic for a while and I think this is a common problem.

Where do I start to get it fixed. I am guessing this might be a " I saw you coming moment " at an OPC as they will have the data for the car.

Any help advice to get this done at a sensible cost and prior experience appreciated , thank you in advance.

Paul

Just get a new key fob c £80 to £90, takes less than 5 mins to program so don't pay silly money for some one to do.

Thanks Gordon ,

How do I program it and where do you get one , the electronics will need to sync to the car ?

Also noticed the boot , front trunk and fuel cap won't open.

Car starts fine ..... strange

I have something of the same problem with my 2nd key, it has lost the code and i've been hunting the net to see if there is a sequence (key in press accelerator lock doors manualy etc etc) to recode it ive done it with audi's and fords before but havent found anything porsche wise

Take it to your nearest specialist, i was just trying to warn you of paying silly money for the re-programming. Myself I would order through Northway Porsche they would order the key and i would pay the cost of the key and they would re-program in 2 minute foc.
