Pls help....sway bar/link bar

Hi all

Please can anyone offer advice I have used the search feature but have found nothing relevant to my question.

I recently purchased and fitted a set of Bilstein Sprint shock absorbers due to failing its MOT on two leaking, together with 30mm lowering Ventura springs for my 96' 993 C4. I was in a rush to get the shocks changed as I use the car daily and the MOT was due that day. I now worry that I have fitted the wrong shocks as the problem I have is apart from my lack of understanding anything mechanical, the sway bars/ drop link bar seem to long for the new struts when holding them up to their locating holes. They have to be replaced as they had had split rubbers around the ball joint when removed, I obviously need to replace them for its re-test and this is were I need advice. Do they come in different lengths, what are the pros/cons of changing from original spec, who can supply me with a set, and what is their main function.

Sorry if the terminology is wrong what I call the sway bar is the thin rod with a ball joint at either end, which is fixed to the end of the anti roll bar, and then to the collar coming of the new Bilstien strut half way up.

Also is there anything else apart from the wheel alignment that I should have Porsche check due to changing the suspension.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Ian
