Hi,
I have owned a 911 and am looking at buying a 944 cab s2.
What are the standard things to look out for?
The car has done 75k and the belts were done at 48k.

Can you also advise where the chasis number and vin plate should be?

thanks in advance

Amo

PS what is the 0-60 and BHP on a S2?

Amolak911,

The answers to most of your questions (and the ones in the other thread you just started[;)]!)
can be found in the "sticky" threads at the top of the forum.

Lots of info there...

Hope that helps. Good luck now - you'll love the car![:D]

Glad to see you have seen the light.

I'm sure when Fen has a visit he can give you some good advice about a cab.
Maybe it was a standard car and he chopped his roof off as a weight saving measure????
What do you mean about 75k? Is this a car you are looking at?
Look at the obvious things as you would with any other car. As these cars are getting on you have to expect to sort out one or two things which may be perished with age, but if it has good history from someone who has done the right things by it then it shouldn't be too troublesome.
Things that I have had to deal with since I got mine are: replaced thermostat on radiator which I believe is not an uncommon problem. Sunroof problems which is also not uncommon (but n/a to a cab ) due to wiring. Resistor pack for climate control, which suddenly became a problem for several on here at the same time.
Can suffer from sticky calipers (which I think I now have)
Oh! Yes, nearly forgot, you'll probably find the dial illumination isn't as bright as it should be....

Because of the potential for damage most would consider a belt change between 24 and 36k intervals, or every 3 years as the belts deteriorate with age.

Although an added expense I would allow for a full blown belts, fluids, cam chain and tensioner change service straight away. At least that way you know what you have got.
