poly bushes - front and rear

smallspeed

New member
Im thinking of poly-bushing my car; I fear the front roll bar bushes are on their way out, as I get an occasional clunk when going over a sharp single-wheel bump. This doesn't seem to be side dependant, hence my diagnosis, and doesn't make a difference if accel/decel/constant speed either..

Does anyone have any experience with polyurethane bushes on the 964? (Did a search but didnt throw up much specific information) and if so any recommendations/precautions I should take? Im considering powerflex as I have used them in the past and seem to be good quality and a reasonable price (about £150 to do the whole car). Obviously I will have the alignment checked/re-set after fitting, so this will factor into the price, but want to get the bushes and alignment done before I fit new rear tyres (centergravity prefer working with older tyres to give them an indication of existing alignment, etc..)
Also, can anyone give me advice on measuring the anti-rollbars on my car? Is there an easy way to tell what size they are other than climbing underneath an having a fiddle!.. My car is a 91 C2, however its had some suspension mods and so Id like to check the size for definite before purchasing the kit.

If there are other jobs that I should do at the same time, then please add them to the list

Thanks in advance

Ben

PS.. Im posting this in the RS Section too, as Im guessing many of those guys will have made the switch
