Polyrib belt- replacement advice please

Hi, the Polyrib drive belt was replaced on my 2002 Boxster S at 38000 miles, so a little early. This was 6 years ago now, the car only having done 20000 miles since the replacement. Am I ok to leave the belt until another 28000 miles has passed or should it now be replaced due to it being 6 years old? Boxster service schedule does not appear to put an age limit on the belt, only every 48000 miles specified. It doesn't look a difficult job and the tensioner is automatic so no awkward tension adjustments that I can see. Have not heard of these belts failing either?

Many thanks as always.

Think that's what I'll do, anyone know if there is enough space to get a 24mm socket on to the tensioner? Or is a spanner essential as not enough clearance between tensioner and the metalwork of the compartment in front of it?

Thanks.

Socket will fit as there is plenty of space once you remove the bulkhead cover. If I remember correctly the manual suggests removing the seat but I didn't do this and there was plenty of space to work as long as You have the roof down.
