Polyurethane Wishbone Suspension Bushes

Just curious if anyone has had Polyurethane Suspension Bushes fitted onto 911 996s and how do they compared to standard rubber bushes on the wishbones?

I have heard they make the ride shaper and a little rougher?

Any feedback?

Thanks,

Steve

65 mat had them on his 964 and said it improved his handling , they are a stiffer than regular bushes yes

i did some on a gt2 not so long ago and he said he was very pleased with the handling although they are stiff anyway them things,,[:D]

not and expensive job but make sure the ball joints are not creaking on the arms before replacing any bushes as it would be a waste of time..

I don't think the ride has got any harsher on my car since replacing all the bushes but the handling has significantly improved.
I would advise that fitting is not a DIY job as getting the old bushes out is a nightmare, and a full 4 wheel alignment is necessary afterwards as well.
As johnk says check for worn ball joints and ripped boots on the control arms first.
Euro car parts are the cheapest for PowerFlex bushes and they sell them as complete kits.

hi im going to fit poly bushes in the front end of my 2002 c4 tip this week i will let you know how i get on but i think it will take wheel alignment and a new set michelins
they are not hard to fit as i have already put one set of bushes in a spare lower control arm that i have no special tools required the main problem is finding a ball joint spliter to fit and seperate the lower ball joint but im sure it will all be worth it

hi i have fitted my bushes with no problems as for the ride i didnt find the ride any harder or harsh it felt slightly more responsive and i think it is less prone to tramlining although it hasnt stopped raining since i have done the job i have also just had a four wheel alignment carryed out so when things dry out i will give it a proper testing. the bushes that i removed
were still in very good condition so i didnt expect a massive difference

ps i had a fabulous night fitting my bushes as while the car was in the air i checked out my rear main seal to se how bad
the leek was getting only to find it was only my cam chain tensioners leeking which i have fixed result i wasent looking forward to changing the the rms
