Poor Hot starting

I have had this problem for the last couple of years, when the weather is warm and I try to start the car after it has been driven and left for an hour or two it is reluctant to start, it sort of fires but not quite. It will start after a lot of winding over. I am thinking the fuel return check valve may be leaking allowing the fuel to vapourise in the engine bay lines. In France (25 to 30 C) I did have to leave it parked with the bonnet slightly open as this did help.
Do you think the check valve sounds likely. I have no other running problems and it has just past the mot, no problems.
Sorry I forgot to say it's a 944 S2 1991 no mods.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yes it will be the fuel pressure dropping off in the rail allowing the fuel to boil in the injectors,

Took it to Autowerk in Norwich, it was fuel pressure drain but it was through the pressure regulator.
