Poor radio reception

1996 993 C4S with a CDR 210 radio.

Is it correct that the FM tuning does not cover every frequency? I live in West London and can't get the correct frequency for Capital or Magic.

I can only get 95.7 or 95.9 but not 95.8. I have a new windscreen fitted by Porsche so not the arial and its connections.

Any ideas apart from buying a new radio?

Thanks for pointing out my bad spelling!! Definitely not the aerial connection so it must be the radio. Probably need to look at a good option Tom
 
The CDR 210 is a US spec radio. I think the UK version is called a CD21. The reason people buy the US versions is they are much cheaper than the UK version. As is it DIN sized have a look at some of the DIN sized radios which are UK spec. Also make sure it can support an Ipod and copied CDs if you use them.
 
Forgot to mention the US radios have a different step up so that is why you cannot get certain radio stations. I'm afraid your solution is to get another cd/radio deck.
 
Tom , Russell is correct in what he says, but it may be worth giving a car audio repairer a call just to check what solutions may be possible. I think i had read that they could be converted somewhere. Try maple audio in bath ,Wiltshire 01225 442180. Christian................
 
I've not owned a 993 but a 944 I owned had a an aerial amplifier with an in-line fuse behind the radio. If the fuse has blown it would cause poor reception on FM.
