Poor radio reception.

Greetings
A friend of mine has a early '02 Turbo S in which the radio reception is poor, ie. it doesn't self seek on all stations, probably only 60-70% of whats up for grabs. The Alpine stereo has been independently tested and is in full health[:)] And yes the aerial amplifier supply is connected and tests O.K.
Therefore we can only assume that the aerial amp or the screen element to be at fault.[&o]
OR there isn't a fault and it's what every 996 is like (I have always thought a screen aerial to be substandard...........nothing like a good ol' metal sticky up rod, proud of the bodywork[:D])
Any one had simla' problems?
Ta v. much
Alex

I don't have any issues with radio reception, although mine is a standard setup.i.e. PCM

I do - I have PCM (1) and my reception is very poor. Local stations are fine as long as I am near the source whereas my wife's Golf holds the same signals far further than my C4. National Stations are poor - well radio 2 is anyway. (and the reception is crap too - boom boom ! ! !) Might be my part of the world is a bad reception area (East Sussex)

Mine is satisfactory but not as good as my volvo or my wife's nissan. I can live with it though.

My Road Angel interferes with my reception. If I unplug it, reception is great. Bit of a pain really.
