Poor Starting

Hi, All !!!!

I have had a busy time and changed the engine in my 944. 1986 2.5, 8v

All is well except a major point..... The starting []
First off we got the car started and waited for the tappets to fill.
After 30-40 seconds we switched off to check all the fluid levels again.
Then when trying to start the car again, it turns over fine but won't start.
The rev counter does move but not much when attempting to start maybe 1-2mm from the start.
After turning the car over for a bit (15 seconds + ) it did start again but it was not keen......

Do you think I've got the speed sensors set wrong the gap I set to 0.8mm.

Any help is appreciated, as I am at a bit of a low

When mine starts it shows cranking speed I believe, and that should be something over 200rpm to give the engine a fair shout at firing.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
