Poorly 944S2 on M42

well it was a cheap fix fortunately.... but having your car break down in the middle of a trip is always a bit stressful especially when you don't know what is wrong at first.[:(]

How did the fault develop ? did the engine just fail whilst driving or refuse to start

Good to hear it was not a big issue, that second picture captures the 944 lines brilliantly, what a unique and awesome car it is !! nothing even comes close.
That said i do liike 911,s [;)]

Yes. Sorry couldn't quite figure out how to add Flickr pictures.

Turned out to be a faulty fuel pump regulator thought it was the pump itself at one point as was making bit of a noise. Was on M40/M42 and just kept losing power then would restart and run for a minute or so.

So not too horrendous except for spending 5 hours getting home and waiting around for Green Flag.

And first time that car has ever left me stranded so can't complain too much.

Its the £200 component they charge you for Simon, when they replace the DME relay?

Just a guess....[8|]

Zermatt is lovely too - seems to improve with age

All apologies, yes of course fuel pressure regulator was what I meant. Not sure about the £200 bit mine was £140 including couple of hours labour for investigation at my local Indy.

I recently had the same problem but was close to home and just made it back. A very nice AA man diagnosed might be the fuel pump and relayed the car to my indy on his own. It was in fact the regulator.
The only other time my car has ever let me down it was the DME.
Have I now had the set or is there any other surprise in store?

What way did you go to Madrid ? Did you go down to san sebastian and over the mountains to Burgos ? I did it once it was a fantastic run on empty roads.

Yes have cone from Calais to Bordeaux to Pamplona then down as off the beaten track as possible. Think the S2 is an underrated GT car. Mine regularly and reliably does 3,000 miles in couple of weeks trips. And ironically the one time it breaks down it is within probably 20 miles of home.
