Porkers in the Trough, sponsored by Posch-Apart Ltd and raising monies for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

A scenic run and picnic-(but theres a cafe too [;)])

We've been invited to make our way up to the northern regions (NW) and join the Porkers in the Trough event on Sunday 4th July
This is the opportunity to give your Porsche a run out and take in the glorious scenery of the Trough and the Forest of Bowland,
Theres also a chance to visit a delightful Falconry centre on the Yorkshire borders.

Cars will start leaving from 10am from the start point at Garstang Golf club- there is bacon butties available to keep the non-early starters like me happy and no timing will be required.
You'll make your way to the Falconry centre across some stunning routes and roads to the lunch destination and Falconry centre... The idea is to take picnics (they don't really know the 997 lot do they [;)]) but there is a cafe onsite[:)]
There are over 40 different birds of Prey at the site to wonder over and watch with three Falconry demonstrations taking place during the day
From there we'll venture through the Lancashire countryside to the end point once again at the Golf club to unwind, have drinks and chew the cud [:)]

Entrance costs to the Falconry centre is just £5.95
The event is to try and raise funds and awareness for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation so donations will be readily accepted.[:)]
To enter you'll need to complete an entry form, which I do have available on email.

The Saturday 3rd event will be announced very shortly [;)]

sounds interesting. i've got Waddington Classic car show pencilled in but, given the choice i'd rather be driving than sitting around in a field would a stretched 997 be allowed to attend? [:D]

This paticular event ran by the NW is open to all Porsche owners [:)]

I'm trying to finalise a weekend in a typical 997 social sides of things..

It takes place this weekend and is fully booked. So if you are in the area , make sure you wave.
I'm actually in the North West finding some amazing roads and views! Enroute tomorrow. [:)]

We've made our sacrifices to the weather gods but keep your fingers crossed as well.
The driest six months in the north west for 80 years looks a bit precarious for the weekend. Here's hoping somebody loves us !!!

A really scenic trip and well worthwhile attending..
The birds were a joy to watch and such a shame the weather didn't hold..

Thanks to your 997 group for joining us.

The event was originally planned for the previous Sunday on a blisteringly hot day, but when I checked out the World Cup schedules I found that a certain rubbish team were likely to be playing, and then there was the Grand Prix...........so against all my natural instincts we changed the day.

[:D] At least it was dry for the drive out to the centre [8D]

We did depart at the correct time... major crash on the M6 as heard on the radio, luckily we had passed that point earlier [&:] phew!!

garyw

That's what it was!!
The M6 was stationary as we crossed the bridge going back into Garstang, and it's quite a distance from the bottleneck at the M55.
Perhaps you made the right decision.
