Thanks to everyone who helped make todays 'Porkers' such a success. Thanks to the ladies team who manned the signing in desk, gave out the cakes and goody bags and sold the prints. Thanks also to guys who managed the car parking arrangements at both Garstang GC and Astley Hall.

I am sure you will join me in thanking Sue & Mac for all their hard work over the last 12 months in planning the Porkers route and liaising with Garstang Golf Club for the excellent buffet.

Most of thank you all who took part in todays event. I hope you enjoyed yourself, and for those who have not been in our area before I hope you were surprised at the stunning beauty of the Trough of Bowland. I am sure everyone found the facilities at Astley Hall excellent. For those local to Chorley, who had never been to Astley park and the Hall were surprise what a gem wee have in Chorley and that you will visit again. You will see from the copy of What's on in Chorley magazine that there are a variety of events coming up over the next few months.

I must give Sue & Mac a call tomorrow to persuade them the organise 'Porkers VIII 'in 2017, but I am sure that they won't need too much pressure.

I hope you all had a safe journey back home and that you will enter Porkers VIII

Well one can only agree with all that David has said & like Jeremy ,& I am sure as all the other enthusiasts who took part,I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Yes , Astley Park was a real gem-I was hoping for some warm 12 " diameter Chorley Cakes to go with my picnic, but the complimentary cup cakes were delicious.

Great to meet Ian Yeoman & his wife-they had really enjoyed what Mac & Sue had once again efficiently & effectively organised & sang praises also about their B&B-another "plus " for Lancashire region & pleased to chat to visitors from Kent (their 4th visit) & Scotland plus our friendly supporters from R3 including Greg Harm again

All in all a splendid experience & not one to be missed,so join us next year if you are reading this & have never been to a "Porkers"

(Once they've got their wind back,Sue & Mac will be on the case!)

Don't forget to have a look at R18' Facebook Page, ( Porsche Club GB - Lancashire & Cumbria Region, kindly populated by Mike Trotter, with lots of pictures from Porkers and other events

I think a special mention must go to Sue Jordan who introduced Chorley to the wonders of stuffed olives, hummus and pimms [:D][:D]

go girl !! [:D][;)]

I agree, Jeremy-wonderful to see one of our members going "green"-talk about -Salad Days!

We do have such an esoteric membership-regardez le "camp" shirt if you dare[:D]:ROFLMAO:

Our first Porkers and I'm sure it won't be our last. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and well imprested by all the organisation that had gone into it. Many thanks to all involved

Graham and Jane (from R7)

Another excellent event, even blessed with decent weather. It was a great pleasure to welcome many new and maybe not so new faces to our Region and to be asked along with Ian Yeoman, PCGB Financial Director, who also travelled from Buckinghamshire to present all the awards. A special mention must go to Sue & Mac for organising an interesting and pleasant route, the breakfasts and evening meal, true legends without whom, this event would not take place. Take a bow you two!

Another superbly organised "Porkers in the Trough" our second consecutive one, so two rally plaques on the garage wall now, but what a coincidence, both have entry No.23! Well done to Sue & Mac and all R18 members involved in the smooth running of this brilliant event.

Sorry for the delay in posting this, just got back from organising our R3 WOTY to Scotland. As an organiser I realise just how much time and effort goes into sorting an event, therefore I imagine, an event like Porkers in the Trough must be a hugely daunting, time consuming, mammoth undertaking. As a club member, it is still, after all these years, by far one of the most enjoyable events of the year and judging from how far and wide participants travel, others feel the same way. Deb and I have always been made extremely welcome by all at R18 every year and were absolutely thrilled this year to be given gifts for our 100% Porkers attendance and for encouraging others from R3 to come across and find out for themselves how brilliant an event it is. My old headmaster would be shocked at me getting 100% attendance in anything, I guess Sue is just sterner (sorry Mr Eavis)! Well done to all involved, not forgetting the guys and girls pointing us in the right direction in the carparks and also allowing our R3 posse to park together at the lunch stop. The biggest thanks (and I know they don't do it for the recognition) must go to Mac & Sue for co-ordinating the whole day, they make sure we all have a relaxed, fun and pleasant experience, always within fantastic surroundings and make Porkers what it has become today. A truly inspirational couple, I only hope Deb & I can emulate them as organisers in the future.

Our members have already started asking the FAQ - "Can we do this again next year?" Mac? Sue? Porkers VIII?

Hope to see you all at Witton Castle on the 14th #shamlessplug

Thanks again Greg & Deb.

Wow!

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

We have just heard from Rosemere that over £2,000 was raised on Sunday. This does not take gift aid into account.

Incidentally the inclusion of a map in the instructions was worth its weight in gold, as the closure of the A6 by an accident as we were all leaving Astley Hall meant that everybody could find a different way back on to the route. Can you imagine the chaos if we had decided to use tulip maps? (A motorcyclist was unfortunately killed in the accident and the road closed for investigations)

At this stage we have no plans for Porkers VIII.

The £2000+ raised is fantastic - it's the icing on the cake. What a fantastic day we had. Another great route - this time we even had some great views across the hills and down to the coast thanks to our good fortune with our "interesting" north-west weather - a great location in Chorley and a fantastic turnout.

Thanks to to all those involved in what must be a mammoth organisational exercise - Sue and Mac in particular must be so pleased with another great event.

We are still trying to recover from the shock to put it mildly.......We have just received a further donation to Rosemere related to "Porkers" which takes the total to over £5,000.

Yes you read that correctly.................FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS.

We and Rosemere are absolutely delighted and we can't thank the donors sufficiently for their generosity.

Well Mac & Sue's latest news is certainly Hair Raising!-I wish mine would grow like that(not green off course)[:D]

Absolutely brilliant news. Another fantastic event. Apologies for late posting but I've only just got this to work. A great day out, superb run. Great company. Big thanks to Sue and Mac for all the effort that they put in to making this work.
