Porsche 911 Carrera 964 3.2 1990 Model Serviceing

Hi,

My dad has recently purchased a 911 Carrera 964 3.2, 1990 model.

He is wanting to give it a decent service, but is unsure of a few things. What would you recommend replacing/checking on the car firstly, not sure on the miles but it is over 100,000. Also, what oil does it need? and how much? The car has full service history at the moment and he doesn't want to ruin that!

Any hints or tips will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

i personally for piece of mind would take it to a 911 porsche specialist and give it a thorough check up and a full dogs b*** service. Not cheap but may pick up on other things i.e: oil return pipes/worn discs/socks etc that may save money in the long run. Hopefully it will be sound, good luck.

964 - 3.2 ?

I believe all the 964 models were 3.6 (except 3.3 for the Turbo), at 1990 it should be an early 964. The 3.2 where the last 911's.

Ditto the above 964 and 3.2 don't mix?

Either its a carrera 3.2 : 83-89 model with 3.2 (3.3 turbo) engine or it's a 964 : 90-93 with a 3.6 (3.3 & 3.6 turbo) engine.

Regards

my bad it is a 3.6, lol. Thanks for all the replies. I will get my dad to have a look into it as the oil return pipes keep comming up.

Thanks!
