Porsche 944 1985 O2 Levels AFM Adjustment

Hi

I suspected car O2 levels were high due to low fuel consumption and exhaust gas smelling very rich, I checked all other items such as air leaks etc. before adjustment.
An exhaust gas analyser was used and indicated a reading of >8%.
I adjusted AFM to give my 1985/2 the reading below of 0.6 ± 0.2 % CO but just wanted to check this is the correct value for these non cat cars and not US figures.:

p to 1985 models
At 900 ± 50 RPM ................................................................................................................................................................................. 0.6 ± 0.2 % CO
From 1985/2 models
At 840 ± 40 RPM ................................................................................................................................................................................. 0.6 ± 0.2 % CO

Kind regards
Si.

Hi Si,
The way I'm reading the manual those are the figures for a car with a catalytic converter. I think either 85 or 85/2 cars for Europe (non-cat) should be in the range 0.5-1.0. Of course the ranges overlap, so if you have it in your quoted range of 0.6 plus or minus 0.2, as long as it's >0.5 it's still in spec.

Am I missing something here...IIRC an 85 model year car needs a Co reading of 4.5% or less.. Sorry but I'm not getting what's being discussed here?... probably just my confused head on the stupid medication I'm on, so please forgive me in my confusion...lol

Pete

Edit:... sorry just realised you are talking O2... sorry..
