Porsche 944 garages around the central belt

I have recently bought a 1989 Porsche 944 from Vormotor and have brought it back to Edinburgh, does anybody have any advice as to good garages I could use around the central belt in Scotland. Does anyone have any advise on good websites or garageswhere I could buy 944 parts if/when the need arises. Thanks, Jamie C

Yep, as mentioned above: Motortune in Shotts and Brian Millar in Edinburgh are both excellent and both know all models of 944 inside-out.

There are also plenty of specialists around for things like exhausts, suspension, etc who have a reasonable prior knowledge of the 944. For example, if you ever need geometry/alignment doing then CLCM in Edinburgh are absolutely fantastic.

You can source parts from all over the place"”mail order is a wonderful thing. The only place you get stuck is when you need something that Porsche class as a "˜dealer only' part, in which case Porsche Centre Edinburgh will be happy to help.

Hi Jamie, I have an industrial unit up in Bonnybridge where I keep some cars for spares, have 2 S2s, an S and also 2 square dashes in at the moment. I am also starting to keep a stock of parts such as brake flexis, ARB bushes, CV joints, water pumps, belts, tensioners in stock too. Have a 2 post ramp, 2 S2s and a Turbo (as well as a 911SC) of my own and the kettle is always never too long off the boil! I am on 07515 899 500 if you need anything.
Regards, Alasdair

I reckon I must have passed your place on my way to Stainless Creations in Falkirk yesterday "¦

Hi Tony, you would have passed by my house as it is just off the main drag in Bonnybridge, the unit is on the other side of the canal. Store my number for future reference if you want, you are more than welcome to stop by when next in the area. There is usually a Porsche 944 of some variety on the ramp and as I said, the kettle is always full and at the ready,

Never used Brian Millar, but rate Peter @ Motortune very highly. Knows them inside out, and is plenty busy. Will argue with you if he thinks things you are asking him to do are unnessessary and therefore a waste of your £s.

Yeah, can't praise Peter enough. He's done so many helpful and friendly things for me over the years I wouldn't know where to start.

Thanks for all your replies, definately know where to come now if I have any problems, no plans to take to the track yet as I am using the car daily to commute to work, will give you a shout if I do throw caution to the wind though, thanks, JC
