Porsche 944 Power Steering Leak

I have slight fluid leak from one of the unions on the power steering pump. Unions are tight. Before I take everything apart are the sealing washers just plain copper washers or dowty type seals? I wanted to make sure I had the right bits to hand before I start the job.

I can confirm - just standard copper washers. Dont be fooled that its the washers, often its the joints or pipes but can look like the unions.

IMHO if its leaking that badly, drain the system, whip the hose off and have it remanufactured using the existing ends/ unions with new pipe - shouldnt cost more than ~ £80 for a decent Pirtek type local hose manufacturer

It was just a few drips, nothing serious. Took the offending joint apart, cleaned and replaced with a couple of generic copper washers. Rebuilt, bled and left overnight. No signs of any drips so fingers crossed.

Now to find the mystery water leak and solve the riddle of the next puddle......

yes Mike,,I like them easy fixes that mechanics who have worked on our cars for a few decades know,,,
i had a load of interior bulbs fitted but my clock although working fine had no light so my chaps soldered the clock to the cig lighter so my clock light now turns on when i switch my lights on,,,,
