porsche 944 problems

I recently bought a beautiful black '85 944, however there are a few problems with it that i would need to sort out and would be greatful with any help or advice:

1) the first problem is there appears to be constant heat coming from beneath the dash board which results in the car becoming very hot and uncomfortable to drive in. The only way around it is to drive with all the windows and sunroof open but this is not always pratical atm.

2) the second problem is the windscreen wipers, they worked on the way home and then have stopped working full stop! They were making horrible screechy grinding noises when they worked and now have stoppped completely. Any advice on where to start?

These are the most pressing problems that i need some advice with at first. Any help would be greatfully appreciated

Many thanks
Ben

The heater is probably the good old heater clip failure...see clarkes garage link for easy repair.Regards to the wipers have you checked the wiper mechanism?

Search is your friend....heater details here but it's very common so there are loads of threads. Details of the fix with pictures on Clarks Garage, it's only around £1 and 15 minutes work.
