Porsche 944 Turbo S Silver Rose - For Sale I think.....

I'm sat here writing this and not sure if I should press the submit button or just delete it and see how I feel in 2 months time [&:]

For those that know me I am lucky enough to have 3 Porsches in my garage and I am finding it increasingly difficult to get much time to drive any of them and they are not being used to their full potential. The 944 Turbo S is the one that I feel I can just get in and drive and probably is the one that gives me the most driving fun (especially in previous years when we have gone on our European Tripe to Dinslaken, Stuttgart etc.), but it is also the one that should be the easiest to sell due to its value compared to my other 2 cars.

The car is not standard and has been modified to give over 320bhp (Wayne Schofield mapped it for me 18 months ago) but it could be returned to standard if someone wanted to do so.

  • Promax Level 2 Kit with custom mapping using a Greddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controller giving 324bhp set up by Wayne Schofield @ Chipwizards in Warrington
  • Delphi 55 Injectors with Ignition Kit
  • Duel Port Wastegate
  • Stage 1 Intercooler
  • Lindsey Racing 3" Exhaust System

The interior is also changed from standard as the original seats and door cards had faded over the years so I replaced the seats with Sport Seats and had them recovered in the Burgundy Check plaid material with leather bolsters and backs and had the rear seats done at the same time. I also had the door cards re covered and a CS steering wheel covered by Royals in burgundy to match the rest of the interior.

There is a large service file included with the car including receipts for work done before and during my ownership and I am happy to discuss specific details of the car with anyone who is interested in it. The car can be viewed in Gretna (Scotland), about 6 miles over the border from Carlisle near Junction 45 of the M6 by prior appointment.

The car mileage is currently 107,969 and it has an MOT until 18th March 2017. It passed with no advisories which has been the case for a number of years. It had a Full Service in March 2015 (at 106,739 miles) and new ignition leads and spark plugs fitted in March 2016.

All the belts were changed along with the engine mounts in September 2012 (at 102,467 miles) and both rear M030 torsion bars were replaced in September 2013 (at 104,289 miles). The rear fuel lines were also replaced while the axle/sub frame was out at this time.

I also have a spare set of refurbished CS alloys that I will offer to the buyer if they wish at extra cost before I offer on the Forum.

Price is a tricky one and I am finding it hard to compare it to anything currently out there for sale especially as it is a Limited Model. I have set the price at £19,000 and will see where I go from there.

Are there any other Silver Rose models for sale? I cant help thinking you could ask another 3k and hold firm if you are in no hurry to sell.

Well I think it's priced sensibly and should sell no bother. These cars are made to be driven and do not really like periods of non use. Let someone else enjoy and use a fantastic car Martin if you aren't the man to do this anymore.

Or on the other hand get the thing out and use it and keep it.

I see your dilemma.

Stuart

UPDATE : I've had a few people enquire about the car, but no one has come to view it yet (maybe I live in the wrong part of the UK [:-] )

It looks like the market is quiet or maybe the demand for a 944 Turbo S isn't quite at this price level? I haven't advertised anywhere else yet so I may look at other options and see what happens.

Try 'Pistonheads' Martin, I'm sure it won't hang around for long there...good luck...

Pete
