A great day, thanks to Janspeed and all who attended.

The power at the wheel outputs ranged from 197bhp to 230bhp (235bhp if you include a 993 unmodded interloper).

My car set the unmodded benchmark at 202bhp.

The two chipped and airbox modded cars came in at 197bhp (not sure if Jamie had the airbox mod?) and 201bhp.

Mark with a chip, airbox mod and Janspeed decat exhaust came in at a respectable 213bhp.

Chris with the new super charger came in at 230bhp.

Eventually we got a run from the standard 993 - said he had a puncture, scared I say.

Top power is not what it is all about, but as a proxy.....?. As a broad brush comparison, I suppose they give an indicator between the cars.

My verdict is that Porsche got the 968 airflow/fuel pretty spot on out of the box.

Minor tinkering does not always produce the advertised results.

Major tinkering does not always produce the advertised results.

A fascinating day, thank you everyone.

Cheers

Looks like a fund day Oily - glad you enjoyed it.

When I had by Clubsport supercharged it dynod at 375 brake (it was dynod at 240 immediately before the work was done) - a few months later it only made 325. It transpired the belt was loose and with a little adjustment it was back up there.

Cheers,

Fraser.

I attended Janspeed once with Gloucester region they tested my 993TT and gave up after 2 runs with the car held down with 12 straps it still inched forward at 4100rpm showing 385bhp and 495 lbs torque )at that time the torque figure was the highest they had ever seen). Car had a RS Tuning ECU good for approx 450bhp so there equipment is fairly accurate.

They were meant to invite me back when there expert was around but never did!
