Porsche 993 Downloads - Brochures etc...

Part of my "hobby" with cars is to collect associated documentation. I simply think it adds to the ownership experience.

There seems a lack of availability on the internet of electronic copies of these now old and often out of print documents.

As I source originals I will scan them in and post links for download on this thread.

Hopefully you will find them of some use. Please post up links to other relevant information if you have it. It would be good to keep everything in one place to simplify finding it, especially for newbies like myself.

Please note that some of these files are very large.

It's a good idea John but I fear the club could be held to account for breach of copyright if these are posted here.

Thanks very much!

Maurice - could this on this be started in the Tech / reference part of the 993 forum - for others to add articles as an on-going thing.
Without wanting you to do extra work - is their a way of setting this up with a folder which just has the links, rather than individual e mails to scroll through? ( hope this does not sound greedy / lazy! )

Clyde - ah, I'd better withdraw my suggestion to sollicit breach of copyright[]

( ps - can we have an aticle secret society instead...... no monogram initials on a club tie though[])

Its up to the mods / site admin.

Please remove this thread if it does not comply with any of your forum rules.

As background I am a regular / heavy user of other forums. Over the years I have done this many times without issue for the benefit of all forum users and not for profit in any way. In the "early" days I used to contact the original paid for publications for permission and I never once got a reply. I then started to state in communication that if I did not get a reply I would assume permission was given. Still no replies so in the end I stopped even asking and as I say it has never been an issue.

I would never post a copy of a recent article from a paid publication (eg magazine article) whilst they offered back copies for sale.

With regard to Porsche literature, I own original copies of all the scans and they where free in the first place (well you had to buy a £70k Porsche for some of them I guess). I have never asked Porsche for permission but have never had problems with BMW, Mercedes or Subaru to name a few.

Perhaps if the club feels this would be a benefit to members they could ask Porsche GB ?

Lovely to see the Performance Car article again - the C4 tested is actually my car.

I have a few other articles buried somewhere (haven't got to them since we moved house), and will get them scanned in at some time.

There is also a Top Gear article from 1995/96 that I didn't manage to find. If anyone has it .....

Cheers,
