Porsche 996 - Major Service. 40k miles 2003

Hi team,

How much on average has a major service cost you? I am about to purchase a vehicle which last had a minor service a year ago but will need to undergo a major service given this last took place at 17k miles in 2012. The service history is full Porsche service history (which is great but I will be paying an annual Porsche tax to maintain the Service History!) and I want to know how much to factor in as a deduction on the sale price.

If anyone could assist that would be great.

Many thanks.

Mani

It is worth noting that the Porsche fixed pricing doesn't apply to all dealers - only the "participating centres". When I had my Cayman serviced at Reading, they didn't honour the published prices.

A Major (24,000) service will cost about £300 from an independent specialist.

Interesting you mention this Richard.

So Porsche Centre Wolverhampton and Porsche Centre East London have differing prices. For example a drive belt costs £81 to change at Wolverhampton and £60 more at Porsche Centre East London which frankly speaking I find quite bizarre! The justification and I quote,'The reason for difference between ourselves and Wolverhampton would be because our labour rate is more expensive. The parts price would be the same, however our labour rate would likely be higher due to our location.'

So basically due to where someone may live cost varies. Not good indeed.

Wow
£140 notes to change a drive belt!
They would have finished it by the time you've drunk your free coffee.

Andy, I see there is a Report Abuse button on the chat. I think we need to add another one for Porsche Abuse as this would qualify. Fat chance of the as you wait service, they want it overnight.
