So for those interested in how rare the colour of their beloved 997 GTS is, here is a summary (source DVLA).
Totals include manual, PDK, S and 4S.
Black 499
Grey 419
Silver/Aluminium 397
White 384
Blue 294
Red 289
Orange 29
Yellow 23
Purple/Mauve/Violet 10
Green 9
Brown 5
Gold 1
Multicoloured 1

I'd be curious to know how colour/rarity affects value... thoughts, comments anyone?

I think those numbers are way out. If you look on howmanyleft it shows approximately 700 997 GTS‘s were registered in the UK....that might not be 100% accurate but those figures you have would mean there are 2000 in the UK which seems like a lot when you think the car was only really on sale for 2 years. Put it another way that means each OPC sold more than 50 of them which I really don’t think is right!

Also don’t think the colour info is right...I’ve owned a silver GTS for just over three years and probably look at the classifieds once a week. Based on that sample White the most common followed by Black. Silver is next and then I would say Grey and then Red. Blue is rarer and I just don’t believe there are 29 Orange cars and 9 Green ones...they’d all be PTS. In three years I have seen one PTS 997 GTS come up for sale...that was Purple (Amethyst IIRC).

I’d say a non PTS but rare colour is maybe worth £1k on the price. If its a good PTS colour that really suits the car I’d say £3k to £5k. On a 997.2 GT3 PTS is worth £10k.
