Porsche Assistance

Hi Adrian I bought a 6 month old demonstrator at the end on March 2013. I was told that I had a further 2 years warranty plus Porsche Assistance. No booklets in the car pouch about Porsche Assistance and so far no documents received. However I did have to call Porsche Assistance after my drivers door central locking failed. Spoke to my dealership service guy who told me to call Porsche Assistance. He gave me the phone number ( it is also on the back of the tax disc holder). Porsche Assistance did have my details and did arrange for my car to be transported to the dealership. In the old days it would have been either the RAC or AA ( cant remember) but they now use local transporter firms. My local firm was supposed to collect the car at 4.00pm on a Monday, they phoned at 4.30 to say they were stuck in traffic and then at about 5.00pm phoned to say that they could not make it that day as they would not get to the OPC before they closed. They collected the car the following morning and it got to the OPC later that day. Lost me a day and that was the week of the glorious sunny weather and I got the car back on the Friday. I suspect that the transporters wanted to get home early on the Monday!! I called Porsche Assistance first on the Monday at about 9.10am. Did not need a replacement car as I have a "weekday motor" but as there was nobody able to hand the car over to the transporters until 3.30pm had arranged pickup for 4.00pm. I think if I need to use Porsche Assistance again I will ask for a courtesy car. May make them act in a more timely manner!! However I hope you don't have need of Porsche Assistance

I took delivery of a new 991 in January, there was nothing in the Driver Documentation folder about Porsche Assistance i.e benefits etc. I have the various telephone numbers to call but somewhat surprised that I have still not received anything like a booklet that describes exactly what Porsche Assistance provides in the event of a breakdown.

So anyone on here with a new 991 what did you receive and how soon after taking delivery?

Thanks
Adrian

jonathon i needed the car to go in rapidly because of an engine warning light-hatfield told me to call porsche assistance direct some guy turned up at the clinic and took it away on back of low loader and at the same time a young man turned up from enterprise st albans in a new jaguar XJ till my car was ready 3 days later. i hated the bigness of the jag(tho very smooth) but couldnt fault the service !!

I had reason to call Porsche assistance few weeks back, terriabe nose from rear, could not fault the service, in fact called me so often to advise , was nearly OTT! Mind never offered a loan car? Turned out to be a stone in between disc and caliper, quick fix and car ready within a few days.
