I know we're fairly busy in August but if anyone has another weekend to fill, there is an invitation to Porsche Club GB members to attend. [:)]

Porsche at Prescott Revival on August 11th 2013.

PCGB members will get free entry into Prescott Revival at Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire - home of the Bugatti Owners Club.

PCGB members will be able to drive the famous hill climb between 10.00 a.m - 4.00 p.m. (Hill runs can be pre booked at www.prescottrevival.net or paid for on the day). [8D]

Refreshments will be available in the new club house and trackside café.

A Porsche Parade lap to celebrate 50 years of the Porsche 911 (free to all Porsche owners) will take place immediately after the lunch break.

PCGB members are also invited to enter the open concours, sponsored by Hagerty Insurance.

To register interest in participating in this event, PCGB members simply need to phone

John: 01384 561 524 or mobile: 07966 362 772

I believe several 997 Register members attended a similar event last year and found it to be a really good day out. [;)]

Regards,

Clive.

Clive

We did this the other year

great fun, as is the hill climb itself

Will definately look at going agian

Clive,

Thanks for the info. We're going to give this a try this year[:)], especially since it looks unlikely that we're going to be able to repeat our feats of last year at Wilton the week before[&o]

It was the year previous as Tom stated, had a great day out with the Macros boys [:)]
I had a couple of runs up the hill, the event does seem to be getting better each year- even with the bad weather at last years event[:(]

I hope to be going again this year.

A reminder guys and gals,

This meeting takes place the weekend following Wilton House and all members are invited there for the static display. You can also drive the famous hill if you wish. You can register your interest at http://www.prescottrevival.net/

They are hoping to see a good crowd of 911's there to join in the celebrations for the 50th anniversary. [:)]

Regards,

Clive.

I've read that places for the hill climb are selling out, so worth getting your places booked.[:)]

Just back from a great day out at Prescott with an excellent turn-out of cars and friendly members.

Prescott offers a marked contrast to the Silverstone and Goodwood hassle-fests with no traffic congestion, free entry, good value and high quality catering, plus a relaxed atmosphere all set in the rolling Cotswolds complete with a passing steam train.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the open track giving it the appropriate respect but still trying hard (well done the GT3 RS) and we all came away determined to be back when the Porsches next return.

A memorable day, enjoyed by all.

Any pictures welcomed ....

I live quite close and Prescott is the best kept secret around here - it is a really good day out whatever event you go to - and this was an excellent chance to go up the hill I have seen people racing on many times. The bonus was if you were still there in the last hour the price of the runs went down from £15 to £5 - the only time there was a real queue to get on the start line! My passengers can't wait for next year and hats off to the GT3 - good effort.

I believe they do driver training and a friend went with the Morgan club - maybe we should take an interest and sort out a Porsche driving day?

By the way if my photo has uploaded in my signature it is from Prescott, one of many taken by a very kind TIPEC member. A beautiful spot.

Well it looks very jolly as you would expect from the Bugatti Owners Club! Will find out what it is like from the Morgan owner and post a review!

Spoke to my Morgan owning friend and he says the driver training day they arranged for the Morgan Club was excellent - would anyone be interested in doing this? I think they are book for this year so I think it would be 2014 before we could get a day arranged.

Not sure how this could get organised. Clive, if you pick this up....

Stefan,

Excellent idea. I'd certainly be interested in a "Hoon up the Hill" myself. (Good title for the event maybe? [8|])

Perhaps you could obtain some available dates for next year from the organisers and likely costs involved.

We could make a provisional date available in our 2014 calendar and see what interest there is from there.

Regards,

Clive.

That's two of us then! I will give them a call and see what the deal is for hosting a PCGB day and take it from there.

I would be interested depending on dates - used to live in Cheltenham and been many times as spectator but fancy driving the hill.

Ditto

I've done a couple of runs up the hill, failed on both of them, just couldn't get the tight left hand bend sorted [&:]
I have since then done a bit of research to find where I was going wrong [;)], so would certainly be prepared to give it another go [:D]

From the bit of research I did a while ago, it appears the organisers will be offering managed schooled practice at Prescott on specified mid-week days next year, the cost this year being £175 per car entry.

Otherwise, weekend hillclimb competitions take place throughout the season, but are run under MSA regulations and therefore require participants to own a competition licence, wear fireproof overalls and a motorsport approved helmet.

Clearly, if there is enough interest in this, we can look at a PCGB exclusive day. http://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/driversschool.aspx

Shelsey Walsh in Worcester www.shelsley-walsh.co.uk/ is another potential venue, although I believe here you need to join the Club before you can run the hill.

I would guess we would probably need around 15-20 participants to make it a goer.

Regards,

Clive.
