Just completed A Track Sport novice session followed by a 3hr open pit session at Donnington Park.
Novice session was ok but it did not really prepare us for what was to follow.
We were sharing the track with Lotus and Mazda MX5's. I accept that I am not the fastest driver but we got a right bashig from the Lotus boys.
On the straight we were not to bad, but on the beds they were all over us.
It made me feel like I wanted to get my big brother to sort them out GT3 may be.
As the session whent on we did get quicker and managed to sort a few out.
Finished the day off with a fast ride in a old Vectra challenge car. Told the guy that if he did over take every car on the circuit including a Aerial I would not go out, he accepted the challenge and proceeded to blast them all away.
Great day !!

"On the straight we were not to bad, but on the beds they were all over us." [:(]

Ah, that might explain it then. That statement is usually reserved for TVR drivers [:D]

944 Cab - which car were you - the 993 Targa?? I was on that Track sport event as well in my 944 turbo. I agree that the MX5's (yes - MX5's and i'm not proud of myself!!) and Lotus's were a pain in the backside. The majority of them were obviously not daily roadgoing cars and were shod with semi-slick tyres and driven by hard core track day enthusiasts who were obvioulsy more prepared to push their cars harder than we were. I got a bit sick an tired of having to let them by on the bends only to catch them up on the straights with the usual dialemma of whether to overtake or not knowing that you will just have to let them by again in the next sequence of bends therefore preventing you from completing a single flowing uninterrupted lap. Other than that it was a superb day. It was my first track day and I had a session with one of the instructors which was superb - there weren't many Lotus's passing me when he was in the car. It's amazing how much of a diference his tweaks to my lines made in my overall speed around the curcuit whilst giving the car a much easier time.

Scott,
Yes I was in the Taga.
I also had one of the instuctors with me, and I agree he did help with the lines.
The hot laps in the Vectra were also great.
All in all a great day.
