Porsche Buddies

Bones (SC Forum) has come up with a great idea, see below.

'Porsche buddies', here's how it works. A member has 1-5 spanner icons placed next to their avatar and in the Members list. We can refine the grading as we go along but to start with 5 spanners equals a spanner weilding hero and 1 would be someone who might have enthusiasm but wants to learn or has facilities only. Members could ring people on the list as they would know that they are people who are really interested in helping out in whatever way. Also a member using this service would out of courtesy offer to meet the 'Porsche buddies' travelling costs and keep them nourished with an a la carte menu and fine wines...just joking but I hope this illustrates the idea.
It could be announced in Porsche Posat and there could be a duplicate 'Buddies' list there, members could be persuaded to visit here and leave their details on line. That way they have a positive reason for paying a visit if they are a little reluctant.

Secondly we should in my humble opinion own as a car club own a lot more equipment. ie engine stands , jacks , the big stuff as spanners will go missing but special Porsche tools should be obtained too. We could invent a scheme where members who didn't return equipment were publicly humiliated in specially constructed Porsche stocks we could throw old oil and air filters at them..... madness aside what does everyome think are these ideas goers?

Stuart and I are often at our garages and have a hansome supply of tools and enthusiasm so if you are in need...

Sounds like a good plan, not sure if the other half would be so keen.

Gav, are you keen so you can get to work on a car instead of dream[;)] Still haven't seen you motor[:(]

Here is our 'Register Workshop'.

We have an 'opening' for a good 'broom jockey' at present. [;)]

Cool I think my car would 'fit in' there nicely Gavin. The 912 is looking stunning BTW.

My girl friend calls me a spanner [:)]

I will be moving into a new workshop in the next couple of weeks so I will have space to work on other cars. But I do have overheads......

That's great if your in Nick , I suggested in the original Post that a helping members costs should be met, offered rather than asked for too out of politeness. Incidentally I hope to have my project on the road soon the gearbox is working but the speedo transducer I told you about needs fine tuning. Catch up when it all works, wait till you see the engine!

im in on this as i now got to restore a 59 356 and two more 912's so know how to handle a spanner o er missus
