Possible new small SUV from Porsche...

The head of Porsche Automobil Holding SE's (PAH3.XE) main sportscar unit said Tuesday the company will soon decide about the launch of a small sports-utility-vehicle to benefit from growing demand in this market segment and broaden its product line-up.

"While the final decision has yet to be taken, you can assume that it will be taken soon," Matthias Mueller told reporters during a press conference near Porsche's headquarters in Stuttgart.

Porsche Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn said in a media interview last month that a new small SUV below the Cayenne model could be named Cajun.

Porsche is due to be integrated into Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) as the company's tenth brand as part of a complex merger. Porsche plans to boost annual sales to 150,000 vehicles in the mid-term from currently around 81,850 cars.

Do you think this will hit used Cayenne values if they build it...

I guess it is a long way off.

As I understand, VW want to improve the Porsche brand exclusivity, so there is due to be a major reassessment of the Porsche product range and production volumes.

I doubt Cayennes can depreciate at any greater rate whatever comes onto the market. If they do we will need to pay a new owner to take it off our hands.
Speaking from personal experience (twice) but still absolutely the best such vehicle on the market.
