Porsche Cayenne Turbo Buying Advice

After some advice please [:)]

I am looking at buying a 58 Plate (09 Spec) Cayenne Turbo that has had one owner and has done 75k miles with a Full Service History. The car will be my daily driver and I do approx. 1200 - 1500 miles a month mainly on A Roads with a bit of town traffic.

Questions are :

What is the mpg like for normal driving (It says 19mpg officially but my Audi RS4 never got close to it's official figures)
What are the expected yearly service costs
How good/bad are they on tyres [8|]
Are there any things I need to look out for with the car at this sort of mileage (it will come with a 12 month dealer warranty but not OPC) and are there things that need replaced at this time or in the near future?
It has plenty of extras including Touch Screen Sat Nav, heated memory front seats and heated rear seats, reversing sensors with camera, 21" Sport Alloys, BOSE sound and Keyless Entry. Is it missing anything?

Final one, it has Telephone Preparation but doesn't mention Bluetooth or PCM, does this mean I need a Sim Card fitted in the unit?

Missing a set of winter wheels if you plan on using it in anger in through the winter.

The 21" wheels will have summer tyres and wont be much use.

Hi Martin
No first hand experience of the turbo, but a couple of V8 s prior to my current diesel. I used to get 19mpg average so the turbo will be a bit less. One of the reasons I switched to diesel this time round [:D]
I sold the last one at about 80k miles and the car was running beautifully.
Service costs are every other year or 20k miles assuming this is a facelift model. Budget £500 plus brake consumables. Tyres depend on brand and driving style. Anywhere between 10 and 20k miles.
IIRC it takes a sim but not Bluetooth.
Check all the electrics work before signing on the bottom line.
Sounds a nice car btw.

Good point, mine are on already.

Thanks for the replies Peter & Nick

I think I will get the full options code list for the car and check what it came with as standard as well to make sure that I have phone connectivity.

I have a friend who works for Pirelli and can get me a great deal on new tyres so the only other things to think about is the mpg and winter tyres [:)]

Hi Martin

I have a 2006 model turbo cayenne and i average out in indicated 17.5 mpg.

motorway driving this will rise to just under 20mpg.

short commutes and stop start town driving is more like 14 mpg

if you put your foot down i am sure you can see the fuel gauge needle move down!

I have had the car 7 months and done 6k miles. roughly in real terms that has worked out to a tank a week. (about £120)

hope this might help

An update on the car, it has PCM with Bluetooth and the MP3 Input.

But there is no PDCC, is this important?

To clarify, for a large 4x4 it handles remarkably well, and the addition of PDCC would probably only be noticed in very spirited driving so unless you're planning on tracking it, you won't be short changed. Good news on the Bluetooth, I'd forgotten obviously.

Finally collected my car from the dealer today after waiting over 3 weeks for the DVLA to sort the plate transfer []

You are lucky took FOUR WEEKE FOR MINE.
Apparently Meltdown at DVLA due to closure of local offices.
Wonder how long before DVLA is sold off ?

Great looking car Martin - how are you liking it. Probably a silly question !!

The fuel consumption is as expected around 17mpg so long as you don't hit the LOUD pedal hard [:D]

Other than that everything about the car is as good or even better than I could wish for.

In Sport mode it really does eat up the miles very very quickly but fuel also gets eaten up just as fast [:-]

Thats good. I have an Merc ML 320CDI as my daily driver which is nice but my 993 feels very fast as a result. I may well change it for a Cayenne and go for an all Porsche garage which would be nice.
Regards
