As title say, finally open after a 2-month delay. Miles better than the old showroom site. The workshop looks great and the 997GT2 on display is OMG it looks amazing (but I would buy an F-car to be honest!). Still don't do MOTs [].

I was told they will be doing MOTs eventually, and tyre fitting etc. Maybe takes some time to get the MOT Testing station certificate and the Testers logged by DoT. It is a great site but not as easy as the Westerton site for me to get to Glasgow when I leave my car for a service..... Still you can't have everything.

I'm going to have to go along for a look sometime "¦

me too.....with my hands in my pockets and the cheque book in the house.
I do not need a 911
I do not need a 911
I do not need a 911..........

I was told it will take up to a year to have MOT up and running. On a different note Audi's showroom looks so much better [:D]

Haha "¦ any cheque I wrote for a 911 would bounce right out the door!

Ah......

You can put a lot behind the seats in a 911 unlike the Boxster

Miles away and living dangerously as ever[:D]

Had a look myself, very nice, esp the workshops. New receptionist poached from Audi across the road !!
The GT2 upstairs is seriously nice really head turning.
Best of luck to them
On the subject of Mot's who would you recommend in Glasgow that would be careful with the car ( totaly paranoid now )

So far I have not found anyone with the right equipment. I may not put my RS through MOT this year.... I had the jacking point bent - didn't realise until I came to lift my car up and felt the front jacking point bent []. I was hoping theOPC will be set up for MOT [&o]. I need to find a job in England where there are more specialist available to pick from.

You don't need a specialist for an MoT - just someone trustworthy - in fact I'm a strong believer in having the MoT done somewhere where they won't have a vested interest in finding work to do - I previously got the GT3 MoT'd at my local National Tyre fitters - no problems.

Laterly I've always used Peter at Motortune - he can MoT anything and would know more about your RS than anyone with an official set of Porsche overalls on....

I agree about using people w/o vested interest. The location of Peter's shop isn't ideal. They have fairly high speed bumps bumps and if I remember correctly a rather steep entry from the main road - not keen on anything which may take out the spoilers, otherwise I would have gone to him long ago...

From memory you can avoid his speed bump by taking long route around his car-park. Also, you can get at his road via Station-Road rather than the main road.

Agree he's in an awkward location transport-wise, but the no-hassle MOT makes it worth it for me.

The wee approach road to Motortune (the thin street that leads up to the wee school) has recently been resurfaced. Makes things a bit easier!

I got my GT3 there, no problems so long as you take it easy...

Agree with Grieg, get my MOT's at a reputable small garage that do not see the cars until the year after.

In four years there has only ever been one item on my Boxster to replace.

I know, the senior mechanic didn't know where the bonnet strut was on the RS. I've learnt to maintain the RS myself - can be bloody frustrating but at least you know its done and care was taken in the process. Shame I cannot do the MOT myself [;)]

Visited the new Glasgow showroom to see it for myself very impressive huge workshop area ,asked about the MOT situation and was told it would be 9 months away although they have a dedicated bay and ramp in place at present ,also bumped into big Al and a old member from years ago Bob Barr .I wondered around for about 10 minutes and not one person approached me in that time ...not even to say hello apart from the receptionist on the way out .I did observe that 90% of the new cars where all PDK so this is the way ahead it seems ,(always said one day all cars will be made this way ) Getting there and back is a hassle without a car ,the train link into the city was good at the old place .Perhaps we will get a club night visit there soon ...over to you Scott
