Porsche Centre West London - again!

Advice sought on the following.

Following the issues in carrying out a 12K service last January (in which my car came out in worse shape than it went in), I am in the unfortunate position of having to send my car back to Porsche Centre West London tomorrow for warranty repair work to some mechanical components in the engine. Their service advisor has just contacted me to tell me that the courtesy car they promised me is now no longer available.

In the meantime I have had to fork out extra to insure the courtesy car (as it was going to be a Boxster S and is worth more than my current car). Porsche Centre West London will now no longer be able to provide me with a courtesy car for the duration of the repair work which is one week.

Hence, I will now be without a car for a week. My own car has a fault that must be repaired under warranty. I am out of pocket due to having to insure the courtesy car that I won't be getting and I will now be further out of pocket to provide my own transport for a week.

Clearly, this level of service is unacceptable but how can pressure be brought to bear upon Chiswick? Is there anything that Porsche Club GB can do to help someone that purchased a Porsche thinking they were buying a quality car backed up by quality service. I have seen no quality in the car (mechanical engine problem after one year from new) and certainly no quality in the OPC standards of service.

there are other threads on the Forum discussing this sort of help - the Club Board has started to discuss how the Club can make representations to Porsche about members' experiences; however, the Board is quite clear that it cannot and will not intervene in individual cases...

This is totally unacceptable IMHO, especially given the problems you have already had. If I were you I'd take it up with customer relations at Porsche Cars GB. Try Danielle Liddle on 0118 916 5190 but if you're not satisfied escalate it to the customer relations manager.

Thanks, Ian. It's all a bit of a disaster again. They have offered to pay me the cab fare home after I drop my car off this evening! Just how cr*p can Porsche service get?

Vote with your feet - You can get your car repaired under warranty or serviced at any OPC.

I would suggest that they pay for a hire car, when I have had warranty work done (ok from another marque) I had a hire car. It was only a focus but it was a car

Taz ... I did the easiest thing in the world when my elastic had been fully stretched once too often by Chiswick .... I took my buisness elsewhere and so far so good [;)] It was obvious to me at the time Chiswick were not my cup of tea and I am sure they felt similar about myself, even though my hard earned was paying towards there profits etc.

You are in the driving seat literally so select another gear :ROFLMAO: and get what you want ....

Here I am, agreeing with the board. Now I like pork, but stopping them from flying !

Anyway, the board would lose a lot of credibility if it did take on individual problems, and make it very difficult for them to work with PCarsGB.

As for common faults, (RMS ?), that does seem to be another matter.
