PCGB members only: For those who would like to take advantage of the free 111 point check (same as the one you need for the extended warranty) please see details below. This has been very popular and gets booked out pretty fast so get ringing to avoid disappointment. If you would like to join the club then follow this link for details: http://www.porscheclubgb.com/HowToJoin.aspx

Booking Details (advance booking necessary):

Please ring the centre directly (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm only) and ask to speak to the Service booking department quoting, "Porsche Club Event"; please have your club membership number ready (you will be asked for this).

You will have a choice of the available 1 hour slots from 9am to 12noon.

We will finish off with a pub lunch at 1pm. The pub is a minute walk from the centre, so your cars will be safely parked at the centre.

Open to suggestions on who you would like to hear a technical talk from or just have them be present for Q&A i.e. Michelin, Mobil, Bodyshop, etc...

Last time I checked with the centre this was almost booked up; there were only a few places remaining so get ringing if you want to book the check. If just visiting to socialise and see the centre then there is no need to call but please do drop a note here so we get an idea of who is attending.

Hi Kish - I plan on being there and have booked in for 10.30. It is unlikely, however, that I can join you for lunch afterwards .

Look forward to meeting you.

Seb.

Whats the estimated numbers that usually turns up for this annual event ...? Hope that they have enough car parking for all of us ...

I just phoned up but fully booked :-(
How many people going for lunch afterwards?
Might come along anyway.

I went as a newbie... apart from one member who spoke to me whilst we were both looking at a white GT3, no one appeared to be the main man on site to meet and greet arriving R20 members... There a few folks who looked like club members seated in the coffee area but they were busy chatting amongst themselves and I felt that I will be intruding into their group... I left after 20minutes... At least the weather was nice today ...

Unfortunately, I was desperately trying to get back on the earliest flight from Japan (urgent business trip) and only got into LHR at 1:45pm. The centre staff and a few regular members (whose email I have and those who direct emailed me that they are attending) were aware but I relied entirely on the service manager and team, who said it was a great day and full attendance for the checks. The service manager and everyone had left when I called ,so will catch-up with him on Monday.

If you had mentioned at the reception that you were there for the event, you would have been attended by one of the service team staff (who organised the event) and would have taken you to the back where the 111 point checks were taking place. I'm really sorry if you did introduce yourself and you were left to just browse around and socialise on your own.

Finally don't want to give you the false impression that if I was there then I would have stood all day at the entrance, greeting and welcoming everyone as I would have most definitely been at the back and missed you if you did not introduce yourself as a member at the reception...please do drop me an email or call the next time you are planning to attend a meet or event and I'll look out for you and introduce you to the regulars...

Kish - we met at the Ace Cafe recently... I did sign in @ Reception, someone called Charlie came to say HELLO after a while, didnt indicate anything about being able to watch the proceedings in the workshop, and I was then left to fend for myself...

I did dropped an earlier posting here as requested to say I was coming (see above)... hey ho...

This posting is not meant as criticism but as feedback from a newbie...

Hi Kenny,
I'll pass the feedback to the centre but also note, I'm just catching up on forum post and with just Blackberry in hand (which is the case most of the time when overseas) a note here would have not helped me put you on my mailing list update for last minute changes... It is a shame I wasn't there as I would have introduced you to the service manager too who used to be with Mercedes before he joined OPC West London and you would have shared some common friends from your time with Mercedes club.
