I understand that The Porsche Centre Reading shares the same site as Porsche UK. Is it owned by Porsche UK and if so, is it the best place to purchase from and to use for service etc.

Yes it is owned by Porsche Cars GB - as are all the old AFN dealerships (Chiswick, Guildford...more...?) - I don't know if that makes much difference in terms of "Is it better than other OPC's?"

Don't know either, but after speaking with the sales team in the past they seem to be a little more aware of current standings and changes as they happen. Maybe something to do with easy access to the PGB people in the next office.

They always seem extremely well prepared and amenable whenever I have spoken to them. At least in the new sales team. My deposit's with them currently, even though they are 60 miles away.

I've used Porsche Swindon (Dick Lovetts) for the past 14 years (and Malaya, Billingshurst before that).

The Porsche ownership experience relies on a good relationship with your local OPC and I have always found them to be excellent. They even maintain my '73 RS. I can't imagine that Reading would be better.

I think that, if AFN were getting any favourable status, the other OPCs would be very unhappy.

[&o] Yes that would / will be the case, but equally so they are pretty powerless to do anything about it IMO.

Past expereince as an ex-AFN customer of over 20 years proved they could always pull an extra car out of thin air if need be, and also could find that elusive spare part quicker than the independant OPC's so the Porsche Cars ownership connection must carry some edge when push comes to shove :ROFLMAO:

Robert,

I think that may have something to do with being a 'long-term, loyal customer'. Like you I've been a Porsche customer for 20 years and the the benefits come in 'goodwill' gestures and greater ease in acquiring 'sought-after' new cars.

Mike good point well argued, I guess being something of OAP's in the eyes of Porsche Cars (Old Aware Porschebuyers:ROFLMAO: ) has some advantage over being a young gun or 1st timer :ROFLMAO:
